Biography

My name is Ahmed Samy Kassem, in short, it is ASK

Born in Alexandria, Egypt on July 18th 1972

Graduated from Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University in 1994, Computer Science and Automatic Control dept. Currently working as Application Development Manager at Integrated Solutions for Ports Company. Photography is my Hobby since 1999.

Architectural photography is my favorite over other types of photography and I have held number of lectures and workshops in the field, but I also have many experiences in other fields of photography like landscape and portrait.

I have participated in many exhibitions and achieved several awards, including:-

  • First runner up in Current World Archeology CWA 2022 Photo of the year organized in England.

 

  • 5th place in Ramadan in a Photo contest organized by Pharaohs International Photographic club, 2022.

 

  • Diploma in Islamic architecture photography in the international Islamic competition “The Qur’an Recited”, 2021.

 

  • First prize (Alexandria Royal branch) as well as the best participation award in the Second Crown Photography Festival, organized by the Royal Jewelry Museum in Alexandria, 2020.

 

  • Best entries award in the “Beautiful Egypt” competition “Professional Level” organized by the Coptic Orthodox Church, 2019.

 

  • Best 30 works in the tenth European Union competition for photography in Egypt, 2018.

 

I was a jury member for “Lens of Islamic Art” competition, organized by Adasa photography organization and El Horreya Creativity Center in Alexandria.

Also I have Published an article on photography in Nubia in the FIAP News – November issue 2020.

And Finally participated in many exhibitions, including the exhibition of the Suez Canal through the Ages, the Museum of Islamic Art, the Royal Jewelry Museum, the Nile Salon for Photography (10th round), El Sawy Cultural wheel (16th round), the exhibition of the Tourism Promotion Authority, the Fourth Biennial of Architectural and Urban Restoration at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the exhibition “off the track” at Alexandria Museum of Fine Arts, as well as exhibitions “area of tense” and “Photography of People” and “Postal Card” at El Horreya Creativity Center in Alexandria.
